about Chef andy schlag

Chef Andy Schlag, aka "The Butcher", has over 20 years of commercial kitchen experience, with nearly 15 years of whole animal butchery experience. Before becoming a Chraniac, he's worn the hats of Operations Director, Sous Chef, & Chef de Cuisine in iconic foodservice operations. Outside of the kitchen, Chef Andy enjoys cycling, live music, playing guitar, and hanging out with his wife, son, dog and cat! If you're going to treat Chef Andy to his favorite meal, take him out for a pizza! Deep dish or thin crust, he'll say yes to anything involving bread & cheese. Chef Andy preaches that, "the most important skills for a chef lie beyond cooking technique and knowledge of ingredients and instead center around teaching and guiding others to reproduce the desired results for a given preparation." Holding down Houston's "The Mix" Test Kitchen, Chef Andy loves working with people to finetune recipes and show the true benefits of the equipment and supplies we represent.
